Ten Ways To Feel Better

As most of you know I suffer from PTSD and having more bad days than good has become the norm. I thought today I would share with you ten things I do to help myself feel better and get myself out of the dark place. You don't need to have PTSD to have a bad day. If it's work or relationships or you just feel rubbish give these a try!

1. Have breakfast in bed with tea or coffee.
This always lifts my mood as I'm someone who loves my bed and food. I tend to have toast and some fruit.

2. Have a bubble bath and a pamper.
I don't know anyone who doesn't like having a bath! I have always thought this is a healer as you always relax. I also recommend  reading a really good book over a magazine as you can get in the zone and your completely inside another world.

3. Master your skincare. Tone, Exfoliate and moisturize.
Nothing feels better than having clean, soft skin. I always get a confidence boast when I feel my skins at it's best.

4. Go out for a walk in some comfy but pretty clothes.
Getting out the house even if it's only for a little while always helps. I like to go for a walk around the forest because it's so peaceful. I 100% recommend wearing comfy clothes because you don't want sore feet from heals when your trying to relax.

5. Get things done. Write a list and get it done in the hour.
When we get things done we always feel better. Maybe you could clean your makeup brushes and finally organize your makeup? You could get some shopping done or even do the washing. It's all productive so get cracking!

6. Have a little treat.
A small treat on a down day is fine. You do deserve it! I always go for a really nice drink or a cake. As long as you don't over do it and make yourself feel worse!

7. Talk to a friend or family member.
You don't need to talk about whats upsetting you, but it helps. Just a quick catch up and a chat about whats been going on helps you feel back in reality.

8. Learn to cook something healthy and amazing.
When I feel really down I cook. I made a lovely fish thai green curry with brown rice. It gives you a sense of accomplishment and you feel good for eating well.

9. Get in your pjs, grab a dvd and your duvet.
Nothing helps more than getting sung and watching something amazing. I have been watching The Walking Dead and because of how much I'm into it I forget what was worrying me!

10 Remind yourself of the amazing things you have done.
This is really important Get your hard drive and look at all the photos of the places you have been to. Look at your old work and how well you did. Look at your blog and see that your doing something and people love it.

I hope this helps! Let me know below what helps you!?

  6. I also recommend going out for a walk or a jog! I love going near water, it has something really calming about it. Last year I started to keep up a happiness jar, I write happy and fun memories in it on colorful post it notes. :) You can then read them later on, and the jar looks nice with all the colorful notes in it!
